Plumbing - Residential - New Installs
New construction plumbing generally fits into two categories, rough in plumbing and finish plumbing. Rough-in plumbing is the process of installing vents, sewers, connections and water lines. During the plumbing finish phase, plumbers will finish installations and connections to get the home ready for use.
During The Rough In Plumbing Phase:
- Pipes are routed through wall cavities
- Vent stacks are run to the roof
- Drain lines and water supply lines are connected to sewer systems, septic systems, or main water supply valves
- Pipe connections are made
- Excavation and laying of underground pipes that run from utility connections to a primary structure is completed.
- No fixtures or end elements are installed at this phase
- Kitchen & Bath plumbing fixtures are chosen
During The Finish Plumbing Phase:
- Installation and connection of Kitchen, Bath & all other plumbing fixtures is completed
- Caps on drain and water supply pipes are removed
- Under sink drain assemblies are installed
- Water supply values and water supply lines are installed
- Caulking, sealing, and testing of new connections is completed
